Happiness Index

If happiness can be measured, let's call this unit of measurement "Happiness Index".

Assuming you donate a piece of bread to a starving begger, his happiness index, let say is 8 out of 10.

Now, assuming you give your rich friend a diamond ring, his happiness index is probably the same, 8 out of 10.

Are they both equally happy? Yes. The Happiness Index is the same, 80%.

But both mediums to happiness, the bread and diamond ring, are measured differently in monetary terms.

Everyone of us have our own lives to lead. We definitely have our own mediums to happiness at different points of time and place.

What influence our happiness index then? Our past experiences. Then comes how we view life and future expectations. With these, an "Auto" happiness index will arise. That is where most people will stop at bad times. We indulge ourselves in the low or negative "Auto" happiness index. Our experience may not have trained or prepared us to switch the "Auto" to "Manual". "Manual" Happiness Index can be cultivated. It only takes minimal effort to kick off the chain of events. A change of mind is all that is needed. It is not impossible. It is as easy as a snap. A change of mind is the easiest thing to do in life.

Yes. A change of mind is the easiest thing to do. Effortlessly.

BIG EGO

Those who with low self esteem have so huge egos that it is impossible to avoid confrontation. Their hearts are so filled with angers that their will spark off with a slight nudge. What a complicated life it must have been. Pity.

I wonder....

How does a fish in a tank feel? Swimming in circle all day and night. Swim, eat, drink and sleep. How boring!

How does a bird in a cage feel? Flipping its wings all day and night. Looking for the slightest chance to fly out. Flip, eat, drink, sleep and make some noise. How dreadful!

How does a hen in a coop feel? Cooing all day and night. Coo, eat, drink and lay eggs. Sometimes nights are also like days. How awful!

1st day at work!

Code of Conduct, Ethics, Assessments.........these are giving me headache. Still many more to go for the new employee orientation. Luckily, I still have some common sense to sail through it without reading them word by word. But still....killing me....softly and silently..... Arghh...
